Use Samba v2 with Windows 2003 server

Ok, so it seems that version 3 of samba is needed to view Windows 2003 Server active directories. This is because of changes Micro$oft has made to the security policies of the active directory protocol. Since I couldn't be arsed to install v3 of samba (it's not in RPM format and it'd be loads of hassle to install from source over the v2 RPM) I changed the domain controller's security policies on the server, as follows:

Go to administrative tools -> domain controller security policy -> security settings -> local policies -> security options.

Disable "Domain member: Digitally encrypt or sign secure channel data (always)".
Disable "Domain member: Require strong (Windows 2000 or later) session key".

Restart and hey-presto.
