WPA on an Acer Travelmate 8104 WLMi with an Intel 2915ABG running Windows XP

If you have problems using WPA (Wi-Fi Protected Access) to connect to a Wireless network on an Acer Travelmate 8104WLMi with an Intel PRO/Wireless 2915ABG (or 8204WLMi with an 3945ABG) running Windows XP, make sure you've got Service Pack 2 and update the drivers to the latest driver available from Intel. The drivers that come with Windows XP are out of date, get the latest version from Intel's web site at http://support.intel.com/support/wireless/wlan/sb/cs-010623.htm.

You do not have install the Intel Wireless Software. Just run the executable and cancel it after the files have been unpacked. Update the wireless driver as you'd normally do using XP's Device Manager, selecting the driver from wherever the files were unpacked.
