- The Flash Mind Reader I love these things. The illusion of intelligence, or in this case, psychic ability.
- Zona 10 Photographs - Joel Peter Witkin Bizarre and freaky photos of deformed and mutilated bodies (not that bad).
- Political Compass A 3-5 minute test to determine your political leanings on a 2-dimensional scale, Libertarian/Authoritarian/Left/Right instead of the normal left-right scale.
- Ballooning into the Sky Cluster Balloon Flight Page. Cluster ballooning is when a crazy person attaches lots of little balloons to themselves until they take off.
- Frank Duff - A Coder in Courierland An article by an ex coder who gave up their job to become a cycle courier (this article is also at kuro5hin, where it's followed by discussion). I was instantly fascinated by this article because I'm both a coder and interested in cycling. I personally wouldn't ditch my job to become a courier, but it's romantic idea.
- The Word Spy A devoted to lexpionage, the sleuthing of new words and phrases. Refresh the page for random examples.
- kottke.org This guy (Jason Kottke) quit his job as a web designer to maintain his site full time. I've linked to it because it's interesting and well written, but mainly because I admire anyone who pursues their interests with a passion.
- Boycott Gillette At first glance I thought this was just another conspiracy theory, but after reading this article from the Guardian I'm worried.
- BBC NEWS | Election 2005 | Issues Comparison of UK political parties, from the BBC.
- Channel 4 - Election 2005 - Manifestos Comparison of UK political parties, from Channel 4.
- The Association of British Drivers Fighting for driver's rights. I'm particularly interested in their arguements against speed cameras, because like them I believe they have no any safety benefits (indeed, often decrease safety) and hence are nothing more than a hidden tax.
- Drummerworld The definitive drumming site. It has information and media on all famous drummers, for example, the legendary Buddy Rich. If you want to be really impressed, check out the videos.
- Global Consciousness Project / EGG Project Collecting data from a global network of random event generators, they examine subtle correlations that appear to to reflect the presence and activity of consciousness in the world.
- Can This Black Box See Into the Future? Article about a random number generator that seems to be able to predict the future.
- Scientific American Science news. Monthly. Slightly more technical than the New Scientist, but also more brief and less entertaining.
- Google programmer creates Internet buzz with cutesy logos An old article which reveals that the event-themed Google logos are down to one guy who does it in his spare time.
- AskTheBrain.com An automated encyclopedia which tries to infer a set of information about whatever you've searched for. You get results ranging from the absurd to the accurate. I like it because of the idea.
- Make Poverty History A campaign with the lofty but essential aim of getting rid of poverty.
- About Ludicorp Research & Development Ltd. If only I could believe that more businesses would follow this "corporate philosophy".
- Europe vs. America An essay on the differences between Europe and America. I'm glad I live in Europe.
- Urban75 e-zine Non-profit e-zine covering "youth culture". They have some great photos of cities.
- Sorry Everybody A site collecting apologies from Americans sorry about the recent 2004 Bush election result.
- Gist Books: Quotations Collections and Books by Quotable Authors Recommended books. Here for future reference.

- Mosley meets Wilcox Cool original products for your home (mainly). I particularly like the One-a-Day calender and the Dip Lamp.
- Notebooks Writings by Cosma. I've found some very interesting and informing text there, such as Cellular Automata.
- Attn: Cmrarider This is a thread started on a US biking site. An unhappy customer airs his complaint, the whole thing spirals completely out of control and people jump on from all over the place (all over the world). It ends up with visitors from 30 odd different sites/forums (including the Hornet's Nest, where I found it) reaching an audience that must have approached 1/2 million. The guy's going to have real problems doing business again. Just goes to show the power of the internet.

- Manchester Aikido Club The club I'm currently considering joining. It follows the Shodokan style (also known as Tomiki).
- University of Manchester Aikido Club I was a member of this club in 2002. Taught by Sensai Jon and Sensai Sarah, it's a very welcoming club. However, they study a Ki style (the Kolesnikov style in particular), which differs to my favoured style of Tomiki Aikido.
