OS X Leopard on mac mini wouldn’t connect via ethernet, with “cable unplugged” message (or similar). Solution…
- Router side, I assigned an IP to the mac address via static DHCP.
- In mini network settings, advanced section, changed to manual instead of DHCP and changed to manual ethernet settings instead of automatic, to set connection as 10 base T half duplex.
- The ethernet then connected and I could change back to DHCP successfully.
